I feel I’ve pretty much mastered the technical side of drawing and painting, so now I like the feeling of letting the paints mix together, allowing different shapes and textures to emerge when they weren’t necessarily planned. The process is much more challenging and fun, and the paintings are much more interesting to look at.

I pride myself on painting a variety of subjects like contemporary landscapes, abstracts, animals, still lifes...No one, in my opinion, should have to restrict themselves to churning out the same kind of art all the time like an assembly line and I’m not about to either.

My daily inspirations and surroundings are just too vast and interesting for me to worry about "continuity of my brand”. I’d rather throw the rules out the window allowing my art to represent who I am.

Painting satisfies a basic need. It connects with my inner self and with other people, and I cannot imagine life without it.

After painting professionally for over 25 years, I work with a balance of spontaneity and careful editing, leaving a trace of my soul in each piece of my artwork.
